| About Chile |
Given its great extension, one of Chile's main characteristics is its astonishing variety of landscapes.
Not surprisingly, legend has it that when God finished the Creation, he took leftovers of desert, pampa, jungle and mountains, and with them he created the patchwork that is Chile.
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean - the planet's largest ocean - and the Andes - the world's longest mountain range -, Chile's coast stretches for more than 4 thousand kilometers. The Andes mountain range is the spinal column that defines the territory, with peaks that reach up to 6000 meters high, greater than any European mountain and the highest in the South Western Hemisphere. Parallel to the Andes, on the western seacoast, runs the coastal mountain range. In the depression between these two mountains ranges are found valleys with many varied features and also it is here that one encounters the scarce commodity of flat land in this mountainous country.

Major Tourist Attractions in CHILE |
| |
 |
Santiago, the capital city of Chile is a study in opposites. Shiny office towers, giant supermarkets and large shopping malls are as much a part of the cityscape as are the poorer suburbs on the outskirts. Chile's capital city and cultural and economic center of the nation, Santiago occupies a spectacular intermontane basin at the foot of the highest peaks in the Andes. Safe and modern, Santiago features excellent restaurants and hotels, cultural events and shopping. Ski areas, national parks, colonial haciendas and wineries all make easy day trips from Santiago. |

Stretching over 765 miles north from the Rio Copiapo to the border with Peru, the Atacama Desert is the driest desert on earth. Portions of this desert have never seen rain in all of history. While it is a sparsely populated plateau, running from the Pacific Ocean to the Andes Mountains, the number of tourists here is booming. |

Beaches
The central coast of Chile has numerous small resorts, fishing villages and two wonderful cities Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Empty all year except for January and February, these beaches are spectacular, the water freezing and a fantastic escape from modern life. Many cabins are available near the waterfront and increasingly surfers and water enthusiasts are flooding to Chile to enjoy these beaches. |

Torres del Paine National Park
Probably the most famous single photo of Chile are the towering spires of Torres del Paine. Located north of Tierra del Fuego these are remote areas completely worth the visit. Torres del Paine National Park, located in the Chilean Patagonia is internationally renowned as one of the most beautiful, unspoiled and remote places of the planet. Their attractions reside on its spectacular mountain range, lakes, flora and fauna that make of this place an ideal destination for tourism and adventure. |
