Vilnius
Vilnius is a modern bustling city with population of 570 thousand people, which is acquiring an ever increasing speed of development. Most residents of Vilnius speak several languages – apart from the Lithuanian language they can speak Russian, Polish, English, German or French.
Vilnius has a lot of museums, which provide a visitor with the possibility to get acquainted with the sources of the Lithuanian nation and the development of the formation of the state (the National Museum), art collections that have been amassed in the course of centuries (a branch of the Lithuanian Art Museum – the Museum of Applied Art), collections of individual artists (Vilnius Picture Gallery)
Vilnius can boast old jazz traditions and excellent musicians. One can listen to them in “Bravo”, “Jazz&Rock” and other clubs. The monument to the jazz player and singer Frank Zappa, the only one of this type in the world, has been erected in the capital city of Lithuania

Kaunas
Kaunas is the second largest city of Lithuania (a population of 420 thousand people) is situated on the confluence of the Nemunas and the Neris Rivers.
The Old Town of Kaunas fascinates a visitor by its restored towers of the old fortress, the light and elegant Baroque Town Hall (which the locals affectionately call the White Swan because of its graceful form and colour) dating from 1542. Nearby is the Vytautas Church, one of the oldest and most original buildings of the Old Town (its construction was begun at the beginning of the 15th century) and Perkūnas House, a good example of Gothic, built at the end of the 15th century, which was owned in turn by tradesmen and the Jesuits.
The Pažaislis monastery, a masterpiece of mature Baroque, where popular Pažaislis Festivals offer classical music concerts every summer, is located beside the Kaunas man-made sea. |

Klaipeda
Klaipeda is Lithuania’s only gateway to the sea, and the most northerly ice-free port on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. Klaipėda has been an important commercial centre since olden times: as early as the 13th century, having crossed the Baltic Sea, merchants of the northern and southern countries frequented it.
Klaipėda cherishes fine marine traditions: since 1934, every last weekend in July the Marine Festival has been held in the town. Kopgalis Fort that was built in the 19th century houses the Maritime Museum where one can see an attractive exposition of marine nature and the history of navigation, and the Aquarium and Dolphinarium where shows of trained dolphins and Californian sea lions are put up, which attract large audiences
Klaipėda is the town suitable for rest and recreation. In Klaipėda, like on the entire coast of the Baltic Sea in Lithuania, there are excellent white sand beaches, and services of accommodation and entertainment are well developed in the town
